Rocked the Finger Lakes

I want to thank everyone that came out and helped make our first regional awareness and release party a success. We had about 2 dozen or so in attendance from Albany, Binghamton, Ithaca, Rochester, Syracuse and points between. The staff at the Holiday Inn, Waterloo were wonderful making sure our needs were addressed.

We learned a lot by this event and have decided to begin the planning for Karmic Koala at the same venue in Waterloo. We are hoping to more fully involve the upstate LUGs in our Karmic Koala event. We are also hoping to get the word out early and more extensively. I know, with knowledge gained, we will need more room for the event next time.

I also talked with Scotty from Math Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva about getting a Linux and Ubuntu group going in the area. If you happen to be in Cayuga, Ontario, Seneca or Wayne County, New York and would like to be involved in a this group please drop me an email. I will keep everyone informed as to its progress.
